Robert Allen Law partner Umberto Bonavita advised the Seller in the sale of the 44.5-meter Sanlorenzo superyacht Kamakasa. The transaction, guided by Mr. Bonavita from negotiation to completion, closed in the Bahamas on February 14, 2025. He was supported by RAL partner Roberto Rodriguez Allen and yacht law paralegal Julie Dunham.
Key contributors included yacht manager Gianfranco DiCostanzo of Nauticall, as well as yacht brokers Boomer Jousma of the Italian Yacht Group, for the Seller, and Tony Maggio of Germain Yachts of Staten Island, for the Buyer.
M/Y Kamakasa is the only 44-meter alloy Sanlorenzo currently in the Western Hemisphere. The yacht remains Cayman Islands-flagged. Mr. Bonavita has been recognized by the Chambers Guide as one of the world’s leading practitioners in the area of yacht law and acts as outside counsel to several of the world’s leading superyacht builders.
